» I've worked on a number of other sites over the years. Most of these have been connected with work and are (or were when I was involved with them) fairly basic sites constructed to convey information to students or other economists.

» First year economics class at Strathclyde www.economics.strath.ac.uk/econ101/ developed with Frank Stephen and Kathleen Tyrell. Now maintained by Kathleen Tyrell. This site was joint winner of the Economics LTSN Outstanding Electronic Resource Award in 2002. The judges said:
"I was impressed with the completeness and ease of use of this site. It represents the kind of standard that could be reached by many lecturers (with appropriate support). In that sense it is a model of what can be done without becoming a technology fanatic."

"I rather wish that I'd have access to something like this when I was a student."

"This is a well designed unit with easy navigation and good materials to support teaching and learning."

Glasgow is obviously a hot spot for web based teaching in Economics. Although this was a UK wide competition both first prizes and the only commendation awarded all went to Glasgow based academics. Perhaps it's the long winter nights up here.
» Fraser of Allander Institute, University of Strathclyde. www.fraser.strath.ac.uk A very basic site that gave journalists and subscribers on-line access to the Institute's Quaterly Economic Commentary. Now maintained by Alex Christie.
